Search For Jobs By Company

Getting an interview for your next job should be at the top of your list while you search for employment. It is great to submit resumes and to look through job banks or career databases on the web.
Just remember that your main goal is to receive a call back. You want the hiring manager to be interested enough in your resume to schedule a time for you to come in and interview for the position.
Temporary job agencies, headhunters, recruiters and job sites are the mediator between you and the company you want to work for. If you find a job listing that you like make sure that you are able to contact the company directly.
If you are not clear on how many job openings are available or when the company will be conducting job interviews then you are wasting your time dealing with recruiters who are just trying to meet a quota.
My advice is to search for jobs by company name. Be specific in your choices of where you want to work. Picking the right location is important also.
I have mentioned in previous articles about checking the industry you want to work in but you also want to know who is hiring specifically. This may require that you do some research on the Career Center and Human Resource Department.
The more you know about the organizations and what positions need to be filled the better prepared you will be to give the interviewer what they want.
  • Do you understand the company business model and mission statement?
  • Have you talked with employees to get a feel for the work environment and culture?
The easiest way to do this is to call each department that has individuals with the job title you want to pursue. Ask them about a typical day in that occupation, plus find out if they have any advice about how you can go about working for the same institution.
Popular facilities such as Microsoft, Apple, IBM or Verizon will have information on their websites that discuss the many characteristics of what they are looking for in an ideal job candidate.
You will be able to get familiar with the different departments and hours of operation. A good example is Walmart, once you get to their website they have a link that says careers.
Once you click on the careers section you can choose from stores, corporate offices, logistics, Sam's club and international. Lets choose stores for this example.
Right away you can see that they have over 2.1 million associates who have a place within the company to grow and contribute. You can read testimonials from the staff and watch videos of their experiences. You can choose between store management positions or store associates positions.
This is just one of many examples of how to use your job search by company to find your next job.
